All NL-ix locations are seamlessly interconnected over our low-latency European fabric, offering coast-to-coast premium Pan European interconnection
In 2012 Belgium was the second country to become a part of the NL-ix international fabric. Antwerp, with the second largest port of Europe, has established itself as the capital of things and aims to build a "Port of Things". This project is driving the major technological innovations that will fundamentally change the nature of the port’s activities. The smart management of freight flows will be combined with new models for infrastructure, logistics and mobility flows.
Industry is also gearing up for a major transition. The Industry 4.0 initiative is integrating digitisation, artificial intelligence and robotics. Here, too, the Internet is creating new value by processing big data at high speed.
