NorthC & NL-ix extended partnership

NorthC Datacenters (NorthC), the largest regional data center company in the Netherlands, and NL-ix, the Interconnect Exchange, have extended their multi-point partnership with the connection of the NorthC datacenter in Rotterdam Zestienhoven to the NL-ix pan-European network.
The move means that all ten NorthC Datacenters are now connected on NL-ix. Every NorthC customer can now connect to any network or company with a presence in the 100 data centers across Europe that are covered by NL-ix, and using the NL-ix platform and other NL-ix services can connect to any network or company active on the Internet anywhere in the world.
The agreement will also help drive interconnection and traffic levels locally in the Rotterdam/The Hague region. This region, with above average growth and investments, aims to become a Smart Digital Region in IoT, 5G and the cloud and currently accounts for 1.2 Tb/s of traffic and 2.86 Tb/s total connected capacity on the NL-ix platform. These high traffic levels are mainly due to NL-ix’s successful takeover of the Rotterdam Internet Exchange in 2018 and the investments in the region by NL-ix.
Good, reliable connectivity both locally and with the rest of the world is essential for our customers. We are in the process of growing capacity in Rotterdam to 4.5 MW, and the NL-ix PoP will make Rotterdam Zestienhoven even more attractive to customers.
